A range of health screenings are available at Courtfield Private Practice. As part of our commitment to your care, we recommend that you attend regular health screenings. Regular screenings enable us to detect any health issues early, particularly breast cancer, cervical cancer, colon cancer, prostate cancer and cardiovascular disease.
We offer health screenings to men and women of all ages, and they are tailored to reflect your needs, lifestyle and age.
Health Screening for Men
A full consultation takes approximately 1.5 hours and includes:
- Detailed physical examination
- Measurement of height and weight
- Measurement of blood pressure
- Lung function test
- Urine test
- Discussion of general medical history
- Dietary advice
- Full blood profile
- Prostate cancer screen (over the age of 45)
- Bowel cancer screen (over the age of 45)
We will provide you with a full health report, which includes lifestyle advice to support your future health.
Extra tests are available for an additional fee:
- Chest X-ray
- Exercise ECG
- Stool occult blood
- Sexually transmitted disease screen
Patients are required to fast for 12 hours prior to the appointment with nothing to eat or drink except water.
Health Screening for Women
- Detailed physical examination
- Measurement of height and weight
- Measurement of blood pressure
- Lung function test
- Full blood profile
- Urine test
- Breast examination and tuition
- Pelvic examination
- Cervical smear
- Discussion of general medical history (incl. gynaecological history)
- Dietary advice
- Faecal Occult Blood (over the age of 45)
We will provide you with a full health report, which includes lifestyle advice to support your future health.
Extra tests are available for an additional fee:
- Mammography
- High vaginal swab
- Sexually transmitted disease screen
- Rubella screen
- Menopause screen
- Ovarian cancer screen
- Colon cancer screen
- Exercise ECG
- Coronary artery screen
- Chest x-ray
- Stool occult blood

Well Woman Screens
Your appointment will be with a female doctor who specialises in this field. Appointments are 1 hour long to allow plenty of time for any health issues to be covered in depth.
The screening includes:
- Full consultation with special reference to gynaecological history
- Detailed physical examination
- Measurement of height, weight and body mass index
- Measurement of blood pressure
- Pelvic examination
- Breast examination and tuition
- Urine test
- Cervical smear
Extra tests (e.g. full blood profile) are available for an additional fee
We will provide you with a written report and offer you advice on achieving and maintaining a ‘well woman’ status. We can also offer guidance on all gynaecological issues, including contraception, sexual health, preconception counselling and menopausal advice.
Health Screening for Teenagers (male & female aged 16-19 years)
This is a tailored check-up that specifically covers common concerns relevant at this time in a young adult’s life such as:
- Diet and exercise / Body image concerns
- Skin Issues
- Mental Wellbeing / Exam stress / Bullying
- Drugs and Alcohol and Sexual Health (where appropriate)
In addition to this:
- Discussion of general medical history
- Measurement of height, weight, blood pressure, heart sounds (for murmurs) and urine test
Extra tests are available for an additional fee:
- General blood screen
- Cardiac echo (if heart murmur detected)
