Welcome to the Courtfield Easter Newsletter!
Hopefully we are now moving out of the period of seasonal viruses and into a healthier phase of the year.
However, the warm weather brings with it the onset of seasonal allergies and we are already seeing some of you with reaction to the early pollinators and trees.
Please do contact us if you are struggling to cope with runny nose, sneezing, itchy eyes etc. There are a variety of antihistamines, nasal sprays and eyedrops available to relieve symptoms.
It is also the time of year when you may be planning summer holidays possibly to destinations that will require a review of your vaccination status. We always keep a good stock of all common vaccines required for travel around the world (with the exception of yellow fever).
Recent changes at Courtfield
Since we last wrote, we have revamped the appearance of both the inside and outside of the building.
You can now order repeat prescriptions via the website as well as book appointments online, including video consultations.
We are also working to improve our social media presence and update our website. Please do follow us on social media – on Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn – as well as checking our website where we will be regularly posting updates and articles (most recently on the dangers of microplastics and understanding ultra-processed food).
We would also be very grateful for any reviews that you felt able to post on Google – these really do help us enormously and your feedback is always valued. To leave us a review please click here.
Health Screening
The clinical team will be meeting at the end of April to review all the health screens currently on offer – from baby and infant reviews through adolescence, and onto adult male and female health screening.
We have recently met with Prof Bernard Pendergast, Consultant Cardiologist at the Cleveland Clinic, to discuss how we can work together to improve preventative cardiac screening.
We will write to update you in June on our new suite of age bespoke health screens.
Out of hours
We will be closed over the Easter bank holiday weekend and will open again on Tuesday 22nd April.
However we are delighted to announce that, over this weekend and going forwards, one of our own GPs will now be providing medical support when the surgery is closed.
Dr Krishan Joseph, who joined the team in November, will be available to answer your calls and offer telephone consultations and home visits out of hours. He can be contacted directly on 07960 460204.
As a Courtfield GP he will have access to your notes and be able to contact any of the other doctors of the Courtfield team if necessary.
There will of course be times when he’s not available, e.g. annual leave, during which time our colleagues from Concierge Doctor will be available to take your calls. Please see “Our Appointments” page for full details.
New additions to the Courtfield Family
We are also delighted to report that since the last newsletter, Dr Sophie Ladbrooke has given birth to her first baby, little Freddie! Sophie plans to return to Courtfield in July.
Our practice manager Estefi, who is married to Tim & Jill’s son James (who hopes to be joining the practice in a few years’ time once he has completed his GP training) remains on maternity leave with their baby Chloe and will be back at Courtfield in August.
Happy holidays from all of us at Courtfield!
